Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of IOU Jar. By using IOU Jar, you agree to these Terms.

IOU Jar is a social IOU tracker and collaboration app. It is not a bank, wallet, payment platform, debt-collection service, or financial advisor.

Acceptance

By accessing or using IOU Jar, you agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.

Eligibility

You must be legally able to use the service in your jurisdiction and old enough to form a binding agreement.

Accounts

IOU Jar supports guest-first sessions and optional saved accounts. You are responsible for activity under your account or session.

Invite Link Responsibility

Anyone with a valid invite link can request to join that jar. Jar admins are responsible for sharing invite links carefully and rotating links when needed.

Acceptable Use

You may not use IOU Jar to violate laws, harm others, interfere with service operations, scrape data without authorization, or attempt to bypass access controls.

Do not upload or submit unlawful, abusive, or deceptive content.
Do not attempt unauthorized access to jars or infrastructure.
Do not disrupt service reliability or security.

User Content

You are responsible for the content you add, including notes and profile text.

You retain your rights to your content, and you grant IOU Jar a limited license to host, process, and display it only to operate the service.

Service Availability and Changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of IOU Jar at any time to maintain product quality, security, and reliability.

Warranty Disclaimer

IOU Jar is provided on an as is and as available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, IOU Jar is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated or if necessary to protect users, the service, or legal compliance.

Your use of IOU Jar is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use information.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. If we do, we will post the revised Terms and update the Last updated date.
